I am proud to take over the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors of NUTEK Energy with sadness and at the same time with pride. After the sudden death of our Founding President Dr. Necmi Dayday in 2021 in the middle of the pandemic and having to endure the loss of his wise and expert guidance, we decided to restructure the company in 2022 and continue our work with new vigor and ambition toward our vision as the country's first domestic and national nuclear consultancy company. As NUTEK Energy, we are starting a new course of action in this age of the new normal, in line with our renewed priorities, facing new difficulties and uncertainties where dramatic changes are occurring all over the world and in our country. We have drawn a new road map in the new normal, to provide human-focused, technology-supported, sustainable solutions that make a difference, with our dedicated core staff who have been working for the development of nuclear technology in our country for many years, and at the same time utilizing fellow experts who make up various rings of our professional relations network to give us even more strength. Nuclear energy is at the forefront of the world agenda as a unique option in the new normal, to make a substantial contribution to the solution of the energy-climate problem. While many countries see it as a critical factor in their economic development, it is also considered by many as the most effective option in the fight against climate change, which threatens the future of humanity. The Akkuyu NPP Project, by the Southern coast of our country, is progressing at a fast pace, as the largest nuclear construction site in the world. All these and the expected large increase in the number of nuclear reactors, under construction and planned, in many countries around the world including Turkey, indicate that there are difficult and challenging issues for countries that are new to nuclear. We believe that in the short term, effective expert-level cooperation among governments, government agencies, nuclear, industrial and professional companies will not only carry mutual benefit but also will be of great overall importance for the sector. At NUTEK, it is our aim to support all stakeholders in this endeavor, with the training programs and projects we have developed in the field of nuclear security, nuclear safety, risk assessment, risk communication, and basic to all, programs for safety culture development for people at all levels. The target audience includes all those who are in the supply chain or plan to enter it, as well as those in the infrastructure works carried out by the authorized institutions, both in our country and in the nuclear new entrant countries. Türkiye is a dynamic newcomer. Like many other newcomer countries which have recently entered nuclear technology, development of a strong safety and security culture is considered a necessity in ensuring public support. Creating environmental and health safety awareness will also help build public confidence in nuclear technology and its applications. We continue to walk our way in line with the vision and mission of NUTEK. |
